Business (AS & A2)
Students examine how organisations make decisions about the products and services they provide and how external factors such as the effects of competition, ethical issues and pressure groups affect businesses and, in turn, how they react. Economics, entrepreneurial skills, finance, marketing, personnel, overseas trade and the implications of globalisation all feature in a course that is assessed by written examinations and provides a sound basis for higher education or a range of commercial careers.
Applicants will be expected to have achieved five passes at GCSE (or equivalent) at C grade or above including a B grade or higher in Business Studies (if taken) or a related, relevant subject e.g. English Language, Mathematics, History or Geography.
