UK Mathematics Challenge

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students for their achievements in the UK Mathematics Trust’s Intermediate Challenge, which took place on 1st February.

Five students received a Bronze Certificate, three achieved Silver and three achieved the highest award of Gold.

Nationwide, over 250,000 students from 3,000 different schools took the test. Students had one hour to answer twenty-five varied multiple choice mathematical problems with the top scorers invited to take part in further competitions.

Our three students who were awarded Gold have subsequently taken part in another competition and we are looking forward to receiving the results. This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to stimulate their mathematical thinking and to enhance their problem-solving skills. Well done to everyone who took part.

The certificate winners were:

Aditi, Helen, Kathleen, Rebecca, Lucy, Rebecca, Katie, Lucy, Amy, Shreya and Laura.
