On
Saturday 21st July, Husien received the good news that he has been
granted asylum and his human rights appeal has
been allowed.
Husien received the letter detailing the findings of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal held on 28 June. The Home Office has five days in which they can apply to the High Court for a review of this decision on the ground of an error of law. Assuming that no such application is made, Husien will be able to go on to university, complete his education and continue as the model citizen he has shown himself to be. Husien, his teachers at Chatham Grammar School for Girls and all those who know him are delighted and relieved at this decision. He would like to express his thanks to all those who have done so much to support him since he has been in the UK and particularly during the last two months while he has been conducting his appeal against the Home Office ruling.
