CGSG Sporting Success!

At the beginning of November, Walderslade Girls School visited CGSG for some netball fixtures. Well done to all girls that played; the results were fantastic. Year 8 team won 15-5 and under 16 team (Year 10 and 11) won 21-1. Lots of goals scored and our defending could not be faulted. The next fixtures will be after February half term, please speak to the PE department for further details.

We have incorporated handball into Core PE and GCSE PE and we are now running a successful after school club on a Wednesday evening. On Thursday 29th November, two teams headed to Medway Park for the annual Secondary School Games Handball Competition which had a total of 39 teams, 390 participants and 127 games!

We had a fantastic day with amazing results. The Year 7 and 8 team won every game they played and won against Rainham Mark in the play offs. They received gold medals, a trophy and have been invited to represent Medway in the Kent Finals in February. The Year 9 and 10 team won six out of eight games and were very surprised (and excited) when they were told that they came 3rd in the presentation and all received bronze medals.
